Building Education Revolution - 3 new projects!

Sporting Carnivals and representative teams

Athletics, Cross-country, swimming carnivals are an integral part of the sport program with College houses competing against each other and individually for selection in regional representative teams.

The College has a healthy inter-house competition in swimming, cross-country and athletics participation is encouraged and rewarded. Awards include age champions medallions and runners-up certificates as well as new College record certificates.

Students who qualify from the above sports go to zone trials as part of a College team, where if selected go onto Wide Bay Regional Trials and then State level Trials if selected.

Both Primary and Secondary College students are encouraged to be involved in Zone trials for summer and winter team sports the selection process once part of the Zone team is the same as above. Many students participate in these teams.

The Primary College competes each Friday in the Local interschool team sports competition and has proven to be very successful recently winning the Hockey competition.

Unfortunately at this stage there is no similar program operated in the area for Secondary Schools this is something the College is committed to encouraging all the regions schools to actively develop.

After school training is offered in athletics and cross-country for students year 5-12 to support those interested or gifted in these areas.

All of this is underpinned by the Colleges extensive HPE academic program offered throughout prep-year 12.

In addition visiting coaches of local sports are welcomed and invited to conduct training sessions with students as part of their responsibilities as junior development officers.
